How We Detail Car Interior at Customers' Home Location - Mobile Detailing Tips

If you’re curious about how we perform an interior cleaning on a mobile job site, or if you’re looking to start or grow your own detailing business, then you’ve come to the right place! Let’s dive into the process of mobile car detailing, particularly how we handle interior cleaning when we’re on the go.

The Beginning of the Mobile Detailing Process

When we start an interior cleaning job, the first thing we do is assess the condition of the car. It’s a bit noisy because we’re usually on site, as you can tell, so let’s get started. There’s a distinct difference between how we clean interiors when we’re mobile versus when we’re at the shop.

To kick things off, I go straight to the leather seats and plastics while my team members, Lex and Angel, vacuum up the debris across the interior. This division of labor ensures that we’re working efficiently and effectively. If there’s any debris or dirt on the surface, we wipe it away with our brushes or towels, allowing us to continue cleaning without having to wait for someone to come and vacuum it up.

The Tools and Techniques of Mobile Detailing

In our shop, we have the luxury of two vacuums and two air hoses, but on the mobile van, we’re limited to one vacuum and one air hose. This means that one person blows out the interior while the other follows up and vacuums everything out. It’s a streamlined process that maximizes the efficiency of our mobile detailing services.

Once the initial vacuuming is done, we start to shampoo all the fabric surfaces. It’s important to note that with certain types of stains, particularly those in the carpeting, you need to set the right expectations with the customer. We always communicate clearly with our clients, letting them know if certain stains are unlikely to come out, and they usually understand and appreciate the honesty.

Handling Different Materials in Mobile Detailing

During the shampoo process, I continue working on the plastics and leather, while Lex and Angel focus on thoroughly cleaning the headliner. For the headliner, we use a battery-powered polisher and a microfiber cutting disc. The microfiber helps to easily agitate the headliner, ensuring a thorough clean without damaging the material.

After we’re done with the headliner, we move on to wrap up the interior cleaning process. It’s pretty straightforward since it’s mostly plastic and leather, with just a bit of fabric on the carpeting. This approach allows us to efficiently clean the interior without spending unnecessary time on areas that don’t require it.

Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction

The entire process takes about two and a half hours to complete, after which we also handle engine cleaning and a premium wash. This comprehensive service ensures that the car looks and feels brand new by the time we’re done.

If you have any questions about the products, pricing, or the process, feel free to ask. Our goal is to provide top-notch mobile detailing services that leave our customers in Orlando, FL, completely satisfied.
